Eligibility for the Brian Smith Memorial Entrance Scholarship:
Applicants must:
- Be a New Zealand Citizen, a New Zealand Permanent Resident, an NZ Resident Class Visa holder, or an Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident domiciled in New Zealand.
- Have achieved a minimum of Merit at NCEA Level 2 or an equivalent result through Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) or the International Baccalaureate (IB).
- Be currently studying at NCEA Level 3 (or equivalent) towards University Entrance in the year of application.
Applicants taking a gap year may still be eligible if they:
- Have not undertaken any degree-level study during their gap year.
- Achieved at least Merit at NCEA Level 2 and Level 3 and met the requirements for University Entrance.
- Provide a clear explanation of the reason for taking a gap year.
Value of the Brian Smith Memorial Entrance Scholarship:
The value of each Scholarship will be $1,000 and will be paid directly into the recipient’s bank account in a lump sum after the withdrawal date for A Trimester.
