The Ministry of Education of China (MOE) offers the full EU Window Chinese Government Scholarship to encourage higher education mobility between China and Europe. It funds scientists and students from EU member states to study for degrees (PhD, master's, and bachelor's), learn Chinese, or do scholarly research at Chinese universities. Every year, the China Scholarship Council (CSC) entrusts the recruitment to the P.R. China Mission to the EU.
Eligibility for Chinese Government Scholarship-EU Program:
- The applicant must be in good bodily and mental health and be a citizen of an EU member state.
- If applying for undergraduate programs, a candidate must have completed high school and be under 25; if applying for master's programs, the applicant must have a bachelor's degree and be under 35.
- A candidate seeking a PhD program must be under 40 years old and hold a master's degree;
- For general scholar programs, applicants must be at least a high school graduate under 45 years old; for senior scholar programs, applicants must be at least 50 years old and hold a master's degree or be an associate professor.
- Applying to undergraduate or general scholar programs taught in Chinese requires the applicant to have attained HSK Level 3 competency in the language (studying Chinese language is excluded);
- When applying to senior scholar programs taught in Chinese, candidates need have attained HSK Level 3 proficiency in the language;
- Application materials for master's or doctorate programs taught in Chinese require applicants to have attained HSK Level 4 proficiency in the language;
- The candidate must fulfil the academic standing, language competency, and other pertinent standards of the applied universities to be admitted.
