To keep New Zealand safe, we need experts in cyber security, technology, mathematics, computer engineering, and computer science.  GCSB must represent the society we serve, which includes encouraging women to study courses that will help them obtain a position with GCSB.

Eligibility for GCSB Women in STEM Scholarship:

  • The applicant must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.
  • The applicant must identify as a female.
  • The applicant must be over 18 years of age.
  • The applicant must be in their second, or subsequent year of full-time tertiary study. (including Honours and Masters students)
  • The applicant must have enrolled, or been accepted into a full-time degree majoring in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) at an approved NZQA accredited tertiary provider in New Zealand for the next academic year.
  • Eligible STEM disciplines: Computer Science, Cyber Security, Technology, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, and Data Science

Application Process:

  • All eligible candidates must complete the Women in STEM Scholarship Application Form.
  • They must submit the complete application form to scholarship@nzic.govt.nz.

Value of the Scholarship:

  • The successful candidates are awarded a one-time grant of NZD 10,000.
  • The candidates would not be awarded more than NZD 5,000 in a year.
