Universities New Zealand Spark Scholarship is offered by the Universities New Zealand for students planning to pursue their undergraduate degree at the university. The value of the scholarship is up to $5,000 per annum, with tenure for up to three years ($15,000 in total over three years of an undergraduate degree).

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicant must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.
  • Applicant must be a female. 
  • Applicant must be studying or planning to study for a bachelor's degree at a New Zealand university.
  • Applicants who already have an undergraduate degree from or were once enrolled in a New Zealand or overseas university are not eligible.
  • Applicants who have qualified with sub-degree undergraduate courses from a university in New Zealand or overseas are eligible. 

Application Process:

All eligible candidates must apply online to be considered for the scholarship. The application should include the following components:

  • Nomination of two referees (for school leavers, one referee must be a secondary school teacher).
  • Provide proof of academic achievement or work experience
  • Response to the statement

Value of the Scholarship:

The successful candidates are awarded a sum of up to NZD 5,000 per annum.
