The Vice Chancellor’s International Excellence Scholarship aims to support high-achieving new undergraduate international students intending to study at Victoria University of Wellington in 2023. Scholarships, valued at NZD 10,000 for the first year of study, are awarded based on academic excellence. The scholarship funds will be allocated towards tuition fees.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicant:
- Must be new international students paying full international fees and entering their first year of an undergraduate degree.
- Should demonstrate academic excellence equivalent to a USA GPA in the A range (A-, A, A+). Students from New Zealand high schools will be assessed based on an NCEA Level 2 or 3 Certificate endorsed with Excellence.
- Must be commencing studies in Trimester 1, Trimester 2, or Trimester 3 of 2023.
- Must be studying onshore in New Zealand.
Not eligible for students who completed the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program at Victoria University of Wellington, are Study Abroad or pathway students from overseas partner universities, studying Graduate Certificate/Diploma, Postgraduate programs, PhD, in their second or subsequent year of study in the same degree program at Victoria University of Wellington, transferring with credit from another tertiary institution, or commencing studies online.
The scholarship only applies to new students who have not previously been enrolled at Victoria University of Wellington.
Value of the Scholarship:
NZD 10,000 for the first year of undergraduate study, allocated towards tuition fees.
Application Process:
- No separate application process; eligible students will automatically be considered.
- Applicants will be assessed based on academic excellence during the submission of their application to study.
- Successful applicants will receive notification of the scholarship via email.
Deadlines:
Applicants must commence their studies in Trimester 1, Trimester 2, or Trimester 3 of 2023.
