Andrew Grant Postgraduate Scholarships at the University of Edinburgh

Eligibility:

• The Andrew Grant Postgraduate Scholarships are open to new applicants who have applied for admission to a postgraduate taught Master's or Master's by Research degree programme at the University of Edinburgh, commencing in September 2025.
• Applicants must have, or expect to obtain, the equivalent of a UK first-class or 2:1 Honours degree at the undergraduate level.
• These scholarships are available to full-time, part-time, and online distance learning students.
• Please note that Master of Architecture (MArch) and MPhil applicants, as well as current students already enrolled in a programme, are not eligible.

Application Process:

• To apply, candidates must complete the postgraduate programme application for admission through the University’s online system by 3rd April 2025.
• Scholarship applications will only be considered if the PG application is fully submitted.
• Once the application is submitted, candidates can access the scholarship application form through the EUCLID system via the MyEd portal (https://www.myed.ed.ac.uk).
• The deadline for scholarship applications is 17th April 2025, 23:59 GMT.
• The personal statement should explain:
• Why you are applying for the scholarship,
• How the scholarship will benefit your studies,
• How your previous academic and/or professional experiences have prepared you for the Master's programme,
• Your plans for contributing to the ECA community.

Benefits and Value:

• The Andrew Grant Postgraduate Scholarships are valued at £13,000 each, which will be automatically deducted from tuition fees. Any remaining funds will be provided for living costs.
• The scholarship is tenable for one academic year.

Selection Criteria:

• The scholarship will be awarded based on academic excellence.
• The selection panel will assess the quality of the Master’s programme application, the personal statement, evidence of preparedness for study, and demonstration of citizenship and community engagement within ECA.

Important Notes:

• Scholarships cannot be combined with other University of Edinburgh or Edinburgh College of Art scholarships but can be held alongside external funding such as Government Postgraduate Loans.
• Scholarship outcomes will be communicated by the end of June 2025.
• This funding is for one year only, and part-time or longer postgraduate programmes must plan their budgets accordingly.
