Backpack-Excellence Scholarship for Women at IMD 2024

The Swiss Foundation, through its BackPack-Excellence Scholarship for Women, aims to support women in acquiring the necessary leadership abilities to progress in their careers or public roles and achieve their leadership goals. The target group of the scholarship is the women who have been forced to flee conflict, natural disaster, or persecution at some point in their lives, and may have believed that an MBA program was out of reach.

Eligibility Criteria:

• The applicant must be a female of any nationality.
• Preference is given to applicants who have encountered multiple setbacks in life and thought an MBA was out of reach for them.
• The applicant must have superior academic or professional standing.
• The applicant must intend to enroll in the MBA for career progression and international exposure.
• The applicant must be able to contribute to the overall learning experience of the class.
• The applicant cannot be a recipient of additional scholarships.

Application Process:

• Interested candidates must complete the Scholarships and Bursaries form found under the Financial Planning section of the MBA application form.
• The candidate must submit an essay on how, as a displaced woman, an MBA program at IMD will be transformative for the candidate, and their learning objectives. (500 words).

Value of the Scholarship:

• The selected candidates are awarded a sum of CHF 133,500 towards tuition, fees, and living costs.
