Universität Hamburg assists its international students in completing their degrees with degree completion grants.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be admitted to Universität Hamburg.
- Applicants must identify as internationals.
- Applicants must not be eligible for the federal student loan scheme.
- Applicants must be preparing for or are in the final examination phase of their studies.
- Applicants must demonstrate genuine financial need (proof required).
Application Process:

- Reason for the application,
- A schedule detailing all steps leading to the final examination,
- Scanned copy of the bank statements:
- For the 1 June application deadline, bank statements from 1 March-31 May are required;
- For the 1 December application deadline, bank statements from 1 September-30 November are required.
- An evaluation from the supervisor of the final thesis.
Value of the Fellowship:
- Selected candidates are awarded a sum ranging between EUR 200 to EUR 930 per month.
