Children of Police Officers, Firefighters, EMT, and K–12 Teachers Award at New York Tech

Eligibility

The Children of Police Officers, Firefighters, EMT, and K–12 Teachers Award is available for students who meet the following criteria:

• Be an entering or continuing undergraduate full-time student in a first-degree program at either the New York City or Long Island campus.
• Have a valid FAFSA on file for the relevant academic year before the application deadline.
• A parent or legal guardian must be actively employed full-time (non-volunteer) as one of the following professionals: Police officer Firefighter Emergency medical technician (EMT) Certified teacher of a K–12 grade.

Application Process

To apply for the Children of Police Officers, Firefighters, EMT, and K–12 Teachers Award, students must:

• Submit all required documents before the deadlines: July 15 for the fall semester and December 15 for the spring semester.

• The Children of Police Officers, Firefighters, EMT, and K–12 Teachers Award offers a tuition supplement of up to 50% of full-time tuition (12–18 credits) for eligible students.
