The E. W. Barker Scholarship is provided by Nanyang Technological University to students who have enrolled themselves in an undergraduate program at the University.
Eligibility for the E. W. Barker Scholarship:
- Applicants must be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents.
- Applicants must have an offer letter for a bachelor's course in sport management and sport and exercise science at the university.
- Applicants must possess outstanding Singapore-Cambridge GCE 'A' Level, Diploma awarded by a polytechnic in Singapore, Singapore Sports School AUT Diploma, NUS High School Diploma, or IB Diploma qualifications.
- Applicants must have strong leadership skills and exhibit excellent co-curricular records.
Application Process:
Applicants are required to submit the application for admission before submitting the application for scholarship. The application should include the following components:
- Recent passport-size photo (digital image)
- Referee's appraisal online
- Response to a personal essay (max. 300 words).
Value of the Scholarship:
- Full coverage of subsidized tuition fees (after Tuition Grant). (for new offers from AY2023/24 onwards)
- No bond is attached to the E.W. Barker Scholarship apart from the three-year bond applicable to all Singapore PRs under the MOE Tuition Grant Scheme.
