The purpose of the LB Wood Scholarship is to allow recent New Zealand graduates to pursue any course of study at a UK university or university-level institution. The money from a 1934 bequest left to the University of New Zealand by retiring Inspector of Schools Lawrence Berry Wood is used to support this scholarship.
Eligibility criteria for the LB Wood Scholarship:
- Applicants must be graduates of or graduating from a New Zealand university
- Applicants must apply for the scholarship within three years from the date of their graduation
- Applicants must have applied for or been awarded another postgraduate scholarship.
Value of the LB Wood Scholarship:
The scholarship awards $3,000 per year for up to three years. Tenure begins in the same year the award is made. One scholarship is awarded annually.
