To support postgraduate studentships and training in the arts and humanities in Scotland, the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) has awarded funding through the Scottish Graduate School for Arts and Humanities (SGSAH) to a consortium of eight Scottish universities and two specialized Scottish institutions, including the University of Edinburgh.
Eligibility for SGSAH (AHRC) funding - School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures at the University of Edinburgh:
- Applicants may come from any nationality.
- Applicants must be enrolled in a PhD program in the School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures (LLC).
- Applicants are encouraged to submit proposals on the given research themes.
Application Process:
- STEP 1:
- All eligible and interested candidates must email the LLC Postgraduate Scholarships team stating their interest in pursuing a PhD program and an SGSAH award.
- The candidates are invited to an online SGSAH funding information session with the Director of Postgraduate Research.
- STEP 2:
- The candidates must submit the PhD admission application by 11 Nov 2024.
- Following the application submission, they would receive the Unique User Name.
- STEP 3:
- The completed SGSAH nomination application form must be emailed to the LLC Postgraduate Scholarships team by Thursday 21 November 2024.
- The successful candidates will be notified by the end of December.
- If successfully nominated by the university, the candidates must submit the SGSAH studentship application via the SGSAH application portal by 3 February 2025.
