Law School’s Dean’s Doctoral Scholarship at University of Auckland 2025

The University of Auckland Law School’s Dean’s Doctoral Scholarship was established in 2016 and is funded by the Faculty of Law. The scholarship intends to encourage and support academically excellent students to undertake full-time doctoral study on an agreed topic in the Faculty of Law.

Eligibility for Law School’s Dean’s Doctoral Scholarship:

• Open to all nationals.
• Scholarship is available to new applicants applying for admission to a PhD at the University of Auckland Faculty of Law.
• Applicants who are already enrolled in a PhD at the University of Auckland Faculty of Law are not eligible for consideration for this Scholarship

Application Process:

No separate application is required.

Value of Law School’s Dean’s Doctoral Scholarship: 

Up to five scholarships are awarded annually, based on funding, for up to three years. Each includes a tax-free stipend of up to $28,200 per year, adjusted annually, plus compulsory domestic PhD fees or a contribution toward international fees, and health insurance if applicable. Part-time students receive prorated payments for up to 72 months.
