Care Leavers Bursary for UK Students scholarships are open to students who are care leavers or estranged from their family, and who are applying for their first year of undergraduate study at Northumbria University starting in the academic year 2024/25.
Eligibility Criteria for Care Leavers Bursary for UK Students:
- Applicants of Care Leavers Bursary for UK Students must have an offer letter for an undergraduate programme at Northumbria University to avail of this scholarship.
- Students applying for Postgraduate Taught EU Scholarships in the UK must be domestic students to avail of this scholarship.
- Candidates applying for Care Leavers Bursary for UK Students must surpass the admission requirements set by the University.
- Students applying for Care Leavers Bursary for UK Students must have "Former relevant care leaver status" and must have been privately fostered up to the age of 18 for at least two months.
- Applicant must be subject to a "Special Guardianship Order", and "Kinships Fostering" and 'was looked after' instantly before the order being made.
Value of the Scholarship:
The applicants eligible for the Care Leaver’s Bursary, £2,000 award will be split into two equal payments across the academic year.
