A prosperous businessman from Mountain View, California, Mr. Schoettler founded the Dale M. Schoettler Scholarship for Visually Impaired Students in 1991. Mr. Schoettler remained blind for the final eight years of his life.
Eligibility for the Dale M. Schoettler Scholarship for Visually Impaired Students at California State University:
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale is now required of applicants, and they must continue to maintain this level of performance throughout the academic year in which the award is given.
- To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled in 6.1 units or more of coursework as a CSU graduate or undergraduate student in any major discipline, and they must continue to do so for the academic year in which the award is given.
- Applicants must have a visual disability.
