His family founded the Edward N. Himes Memorial Scholarship. Edward N. Himes was a career educator who earned a master's degree from the University of Colorado-Boulder and a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the College of Letters and Science in 1955. He spent time overseas training students to become college-level math instructors through work with UNESCO and the Ford Foundation. He was passionate about education, and his family wanted to help students who felt the same way.
Eligibility for Edward N. Himes Memorial Scholarship at the University of Wisconsin:
Participants in the Master's program in Secondary Education. Students must exhibit financial need and be enrolled in the math education program.
