Fly Fishers Club of Orange County Richard Fanning Marine Studies Scholarship Fund at California State University 2024

This scholarship is given in memory of Richard Fanning, a passionate flyfisherman, supporter of equal access to education, and a wonderful friend whose guidance, friendship, and leadership—both on and off the stream—will be greatly missed. In 1966, the Orange County Fly Fishers Club was established to promote fly fishing as a sport.

Eligibility for Fly Fishers Club of Orange County Richard Fanning Marine Studies Scholarship Fund at California State University:

• To participate in the academic year, students must be enrolled at CSU.
• A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required of the applicant, who must be in good standing.
• The candidate must demonstrate their need for financial aid as assessed by the financial aid office on campus.
• The candidate must either be enrolled in marine-related courses at a CSU campus as a full-time equivalent undergraduate student and continue as such throughout the academic year, or they must be enrolled in marine-related courses at a CSU campus as a part-time equivalent graduate student and continue as such throughout the academic year.
• The candidate needs to show that they are dedicated to doing community service in the subject of fisheries biology.
