First-Year Scholarships at New York Tech

Eligibility

• The First-Year Scholarships at New York Tech are available to incoming students based on their academic performance and application strength.
• To be considered, applicants must have applied to the university, even without SAT/ACT scores.
• There are various scholarships, including the Presidential Scholarship, Theodore K. Steele Memorial Scholarship, Merit Scholarships, and Academic Achievement Awards, which are awarded based on GPA and high school average.GPA & High School Average Requirements:
  
  • 3.8+ GPA & 96+ average: $30,000 – $40,000
  • 3.5–3.79 GPA & 90.0–95.99 average: $27,000
  • 3.20–3.49 GPA & 84–89.99 average: $25,000
  • 3.0–3.19 GPA & 80.0–83.99 average: $21,000 – $23,000
• Additionally, students with 24 college credits may qualify for Transfer Scholarships.

Application Process

• To apply for First-Year Scholarships at New York Tech, students need to submit their application for admission.
• No separate scholarship application is required.
• The scholarship awards are based on the strength of the applicant's overall academic record and achievements.
• For specific awards like the Legacy Award or Children of Police Officers, Firefighters, EMT, and Teachers Award, students must complete and submit additional forms before the deadlines: Legacy Award: Deadline - July 15 (Fall) & December 15 (Spring).
• Children of Police Officers, Firefighters, EMT, and Teachers Award: Deadline - July 15 (Fall) & December 15 (Spring).

• The First-Year Scholarships provide significant financial assistance for tuition, distributed across fall and spring semesters.
• Scholarship amounts range from $21,000 to $40,000, depending on the student's GPA and academic performance.
• These can cover up to 50% of tuition fees, supplementing other awards a student may receive.
• For qualified students, there are also one-time scholarships like the New York Tech FIRST Scholarship worth $500, and FASTRAC Scholarships of $9,000 – $9,500 per year for those in specific majors like Computer Science or Electrical and Computer Engineering.
