Lam See Chiew Memorial Scholarship in Social Entrepreneurship and Philanthropy 2024

Eligibility Criteria:

• Students must demonstrate an active interest in social entrepreneurship, philanthropy, or non-profit sectors or have volunteered consistently in such social purpose organizations for at least 1 year.
• Students must be able to demonstrate the need to improve knowledge of market-oriented practices so he or she can be more effective in subsequent social change pursuits.
• Students should demonstrate evidence of personal qualities strongly resonating with social entrepreneurship, philanthropy, and/or non-profit leadership, and illustrate how these have influenced their life choices thus far.
• Students must maintain good academic results, i.e. a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5.
• Students should not hold any other Scholarship or Bursary for AY1718 (subject to concurrent holding restrictions).

Application Procedure:

All Business students will be notified via email when the application window opens, typically during Semester 1.

Candidates must submit the following documents in the application:

• Testimonials from social enterprises or social purpose organizations
• CV
• Essay (Max 300 words each) covering 1 or more of the following:
• Analysis of the achievements and failures in social enterprise or social purpose organizations
• Plan for social change pursuits

Value of the Scholarship:

• One-time award of S$6,000
• Receive mentorship in a social entrepreneurship mentorship program
