This scholarship was instituted in 2010 with funds donated by Dr Malcolm Tait. Malcolm Tait, an alumnus and Adjunct Professor of the University of Canterbury has had a distinguished career in music education.
Eligibility for Malcolm Tait Music Education Scholarship:

- The postgraduate program should include research on a topic related to music education.
- The applicant must demonstrate good academic standing.
- The applicant must display evidence of potential in music education.
