These STAR Scholarships give undergraduate students from underprivileged backgrounds the chance to attend the University of Strathclyde. They are made possible by donations from alumni and a variety of outside organizations.
Eligibility for STAR Scholarship at the University of Strathclyde:
- Candidates must have a conditional or unconditional offer of admission to a University of Strathclyde undergraduate degree program to be eligible for consideration for a grant.
- The applicant must be a secondary school or college leaver, enter the university from a Scottish secondary school where few students transfer to higher education, and live in a postcode that is in the bottom 20% of the most deprived group, or Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation (SIMD) Quintile 1. (Note: applicants who fall under this category will be contacted directly);
- It is required that the applicant have either received EMA or free school meals for the previous three years.
