This scholarship is generously provided by Diana MacArthur in remembrance of Dr. Donald M. MacArthur, in 1954. It is a part of the Wardlaw Scholarship program, which was started in 2004 to help academically talented students who might otherwise find it difficult to afford to attend the University of St. Andrews. Students residing in the Western Isles who are applying for courses in the Faculty of Science are eligible for the scholarship; however, those who have attended the Nicolson Institute on the Isle of Lewis will be given preference.
