The oral tribology of alternative proteins at University of Sheffield 2025

Eligibility:

• The Oral Tribology of Alternative Proteins PhD scholarship is available to UK students who have achieved or are expected to achieve a 1st class or 2:1 honours degree (or equivalent) in a related discipline, such as Mechanical/Chemical/Food Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Bioscience, or Chemistry.
• A strong understanding of biomechanics, cell culture maintenance, and materials science, along with excellent problem-solving skills, is required for applicants.

Application Process:

• Interested candidates must first contact the project supervisors (Prof. Matt Carré or Prof. Tuck Seng Wong) to discuss their suitability for the Oral Tribology of Alternative Proteins project.
• Applications are then submitted through the University of Sheffield’s PhD application portal.
