Advanced Research Opportunities Program (AROP) at RWTH Aachen University 2025

Advanced Research Opportunities Program (AROP) for Students provided by RWTH Aachen University to students who have enrolled themselves in a doctoral program at the University.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicants may come from any nationality.
• Applicants must be doctoral candidates or postdocs from relevant international universities or research institutions.
• Applicants must obtain an invitation letter from RWTH.
• Applicants must display the intent to strengthen bilateral relations with their home institutions.

Application Process:

All eligible candidates must submit the online application along with the following documents:

• Most recent CV,
• Statement of purpose regarding the research project, duration of the stay, expected outcome, and future perspective of the collaboration,
• An invitation letter issued by an RWTH professor,
• Research schedule,
• List of recent publications.

Value of the Award:

The successful candidates can avail of the following benefits:

• Monthly stipend of EUR 1,800 for a period of up to six months,
• A travel grant based on the country of origin:
  • Europe: EUR 500
    High-income countries outside of Europe: EUR 1,000
  • Low and middle-income countries outside of Europe: EUR 1,500
• German language classes and intercultural training.
