The University of New Mexico's Inclusive Excellence Postdoctoral and Visiting Scholars Program (IEPVSP) offers assistance for up to three postdoctoral fellows, research associates, or visiting scholar roles aimed at promoting diversity and equal opportunity at the Albuquerque central campus.
Eligibility Criteria of the Fellowship:
- Applicants can be of any nationality.
- Applicant must be nominated by a tenure-granting UNM main campus academic unit.
- Applicants who have received DEI support as postdocs or graduate fellows in the past are not eligible.
- Applicant must have earned a Ph.D. or final degree from a recognized school before July 1, 2025.
- Applicant must demonstrate promise for a tenure-track appointment at UNM.
- Applicants must be in residence full-time for the duration of the award period.
- Postdoctoral Fellows and Visiting Scholars are advised to teach one course per year, subject to the department's approval.
Application Process:
- Interested candidates must submit an online application along with the following documents:
- Most recent CV.
- Planned scholarly activities during the IE postdoc/visiting scholar appointment.
- The letter of interest must be addressed to the department chair.
- The letter of application to a recent faculty search may be submitted in place of a letter of interest.
- Applicants' statement explaining their past, current, and potential contributions to justice, equity, accessibility, diversity, and inclusion (JEADI) through research, teaching, and/or service.
- Three letters of reference.
Value of the Award:
- Successful candidates are awarded the following benefits:
- A stipend of USD 50,000.
- USD 2,000 for research, travel, and related expenses.
- Academic units will cover fringe benefits and supplemental funds for salary.
