This grant offers students up to $1,700 and is given to Australian medical graduates doing graduate research study at the Melbourne Medical School. Mr and Mrs Randal J. Alcock founded it in honor of their nephew, Major Cedric Alwin Stewart, M.D., who lost his life in World War I in Borre, France while tending to an officer's wounds.
Eligibility for the Alwyn Stewart Memorial Scholarship at the University of Melbourne:
- The applicant must be an Australian national.
- The applicant must be enrolled as a graduate researcher at the Melbourne Medical School, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences, or be an exceptional graduate research applicant.
- Applicants must be medical graduates.
- The applicant must meet the entry requirements for the Ph.D. program.
