Caspar-David-Friedrich Scholarships (CDF) at DAAD 2025

The Caspar-David-Friedrich Scholarships are designed to support artists who wish to pursue an artistic development project. Applications are managed and awarded by specific universities, so applicants must directly reach out to the institution they are interested in. The scholarship provides a financial amount of 1,500 EUR per month, and if necessary, recipients may also receive additional allowances for children.

Eligibility:

• Graduates with excellent academic performance who have been accepted into a doctoral program and are being mentored by a faculty member (such as a professor) at a university in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania.
• Artists holding a higher education degree who wish to carry out an artistic development project at a university in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania.
  Educational Requirements: Applicants must have a higher education degree to be eligible for the CDF scholarships, and for PhD scholarships, applicants must be enrolled in a doctoral program.
• For PhD candidates, funding is typically available for up to 3 years, with a possible extension of up to 6 months in exceptional cases.
• For artists (CDF Fellowships), the funding is generally for 1 year, with a potential extension of up to 3 months in exceptional cases.

Value:

• A family allowance is provided if applicable: 150 EUR for the first child and 100 EUR for each additional child.
