First Generation Award Program at Colorado State University 2025

The purpose of the First Generation Award is to encourage participation in higher education by first-generation college students who have significant financial need and to promote diversity within the university’s student population. 

Eligibility Criteria for the First Generation Award Program at Colorado State University 2025:

• Applicants must be a first-generation college student (neither parent nor student has earned a bachelor’s or graduate degree).
• Applicants must be newly admitted to a degree program at CSU-Fort Collins for the summer or fall term by March 1.
• Applicants must demonstrate academic potential, as shown by GPA.
• Applicants must not have earned a bachelor’s degree.
• Applicants must document financial need via FAFSA or CASFA.
• Applicants must be a legal resident of Colorado or classified as in-state for tuition under the Colorado ASSET Bill.
• Applicants must complete FAFSA by March 1 and list CSU as a school choice (school code: 001350).
• Applicants must submit any additional requested documents from the Office of Financial Aid.
• Applicants must submit CASFA (if applicable) by March 1.
