Purpose:
Promising students who preferably completed their secondary education in the Waikato or Bay of Plenty regions and are enrolled in undergraduate programs with a major or minor in computer science, engineering, management, or opera as part of their Bachelor of Music degree are eligible for financial support through the Scholarship.
Eligibility for the Sir William and Lady Judi Gallagher Foundation Scholarship:
- Candidates must have completed their secondary education in the Bay of Plenty or Waikato areas.
- The candidate must be enrolled full-time (i.e., 120 points) and have been enrolled in a University of Waikato undergraduate degree program for at least a year. The candidate must be a second or third-year student majoring or minoring in management, engineering, computer science, or opera within the Bachelor of Music program.
- The candidate must have completed their most recent 120 study points with at least a "B" grade average.
- The applicant must be open to participating in a university-led tour of their secondary school or another nearby secondary school to highlight the value of a university education.
- Must be able to prove their dedication to their community.
- Student must be eligible for domestic fees status (i.e., be a New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, New Zealand Resident Class visa holder, or Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident domiciled in New Zealand).

- Preference will be given to students in hardship and/or who do not already have a scholarship (unless that scholarship is particularly for hardship).
