- The South East Asia Undergraduate Scholarships 2025-26 are available for international students from specific countries who are applying to join the University of Essex for the first year of their undergraduate studies in October 2025.
Scholarship Details:
- Brunei, Cambodia, East Timor, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand:
- £3,000 discount for the first year of study.
Indonesia, Vietnam: - £4,000 discount each year for up to 3 years of study.
Eligibility:
- International students who are self-funded (not receiving government sponsorship).
- Must be ordinarily resident in one of the listed countries for at least 3 years prior to the start of your course (1 September 2022 to 1 September 2025).
- Must be applying for Year 1 of a full-time undergraduate degree at the University of Essex.
- Not available in conjunction with other University of Essex scholarships.
- Must be available for promotional activities.
Ineligible Students:
- Students not ordinarily resident in one of the listed countries.
- Students receiving external sponsorship or already benefiting from a course-related discount (e.g., LLB English and French Law).
UEIC Pathway students or those coming from certain schools and colleges. - Students already receiving a home fee status.
- Deferring students or those entering in their second or third year.
Ordinary Residence:
- The scholarship is based on ordinary residence in the listed countries for 3 years before starting your course (1 September 2022 to 1 September 2025).
- Temporary absences may be allowed at the discretion of the University.
How to Apply:
- You don’t need to apply separately for the scholarship.
- Your eligibility will be automatically assessed based on the country of domicile and fee status that you submit during your application for the course.
