The scholarship program was started in 2016. The Beatrice Ratcliffe Charitable Trust left money for scholarships to the University of Auckland's School of Music, thanks to a bequest from Richard Guy Ratcliffe. The scholarship's primary goal is to support and encourage students doing postgraduate work at the School of Music.
Eligibility for Beatrice Ratcliffe Postgraduate Scholarship in Music:
- Applicants must be enrolled, or enrolling, full-time or part-time in a Bachelor of Music (Honours) (BMus(Hons)), a Postgraduate Diploma in Music (PGDipMus), a Master of Music (MMus), a Doctor of Music (DMus), Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the School of
Music at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland. - A grade point average (GPA) or grade point equivalent (GPE) of 6.00 (5.50 for Māori applicants or Pacific applicants) in their qualifying programme is required for Scholarship consideration.
