ESRC/SENSS Doctoral Studentships 2024

ESRC/SENSS Doctoral Studentships are offered by the Goldsmiths, University of London to train the next generation of social scientists. The scholarship is fully funded. The studentship is offered in two categories. 

1. A studentship of 3.5 years – which covers a PhD and a mandatory placement of approximately three months.
2. A studentship of 4.5 years - which covers a master's degree followed by a PhD, as well as the mandatory three-month placement.

Eligibility:

• The scholarship is available to all candidates irrespective of their nationality.
• To apply for a Master's plus PhD, the applicant must hold qualifications or professional experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree (Honours).
• To apply for a PhD only studentship, the applicant must hold qualifications or professional experience equivalent to a Master's degree.
• If the applicant has already started his/her PhD, but has not completed a substantial proportion of the studies are eligible.

Application Process:

• The applicant must apply for a place to study at Goldsmiths University.
• The applicant needs to apply for studentship funding via the SENSS online platform, HEIApply.

Value of the Scholarship:

• The award covers tuition fees and an annual stipend, which is valued at GBP 20,622 per year for full-time study.
• The award also includes access to training and development funds.
