University of Queensland Joseph Sleight Bursary 2024

About the Scholarship:

It was established in 1996 by a bequest to the University of $26,000 under the Will of Joseph Sleight to support research in some branch of psychological medicine. This Scholarship is a Philanthropic Higher Degree by Research, Grant.

Eligibility for the Joseph Sleight Bursary:

• The award is available to postgraduate or higher degree research students who are working on their research dissertations for their programs and pursuing psychological medicine-related research.
• Students must be enrolled in the Master of Clinical Psychology, Master of Psychology (formerly Master of Applied Psychology), Doctor of Psychology, or PhD programs.
• The research must examine a topic that seeks to further understand the psychological processes relevant to the development, prevention, or treatment of a medical condition.

Selection Criteria: 

• Academic achievement and potential for scholastic success.
• The significance and relevance of the proposed use of the scholarship to the applicant’s Higher Degree by Research candidature.
• Any other matters the selection committee sees fit.

Application Process:

Students must submit an application form to the university to be eligible for the scholarship.

Value of the Scholarship:

The value of the scholarship is up to $2,000.
