Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement (RISE) at College of Science 2025

Eligibility

• The Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement (RISE) program is designed for students who are historically underrepresented in the biomedical sciences and are interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in these fields.
• To be eligible, students must be enrolled at San Jose State University (SJSU) and demonstrate academic potential in the biomedical sciences.
• The program specifically targets students from backgrounds that are underrepresented in the field, with a goal of increasing the number of individuals from these groups who complete Ph.D. degrees and pursue careers in biomedical research.
