Summer Arabic Language And Media (SALAM) Program, 2024

The Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center (SQCC) is offering the Summer Arabic Language and Media (SALAM) Program, in 2024.

Eligibility

• The applicants for the Summer Arabic Language and Media (SALAM) Program, 2024 should be citizens of the US.
• The candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate, MA, or Ph.D. program in  2024.
• The applicants are required to complete four semesters of Arabic coursework (university-level) by the end of the spring semester.
• The candidates should have a passport which should be valid 6 months after the end of the program.

Documents required

• The candidates applying for the Summer Arabic Language and Media (SALAM) Program, 2024 are required to submit a resume and unofficial transcripts.
• The applicants should submit an essay on what they hope to accomplish during the SALAM program and how they will include this experience in their further academic or career plans.
• An essay describing their time in the US when they interacted with people from different cultures and the challenges faced in 200 words should be submitted.
• The applicants should write an essay introducing themselves in Arabic to the SALAM program staff and discuss their personal and professional interests in 175 words.
• The candidates should also submit three recommendation letters.
