Youth Side-Hustles HDR Scholarship at Deakin University 2024-25

The project looks at young individuals who engage in entrepreneurial endeavors that are related to their jobs, or those who work a job and a "side hustle." The project looks at the traits and identities of side hustlers, the connection between side hustles and unstable work, the skills acquired through side hustles and how they translate to the workplace and vice versa, and the results that young people who engage in side hustles hope to achieve and encounter.

Eligibility criteria:

• Applicant must be a domestic or international candidate. Domestic includes candidates with Australian Citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency or New Zealand Citizenship.
• Applicant must meet Deakin's PhD entry requirements.
• Applicant must be enrolling full time and hold an honours degree (first class) or an equivalent standard master's degree with a substantial research component.

• CV (including skills, education, publications and relevant work experience)
• Cover letter ( including interest the project)

Benefits:

• Stipend of $34,400 per annum tax exempt (2024 rate)
• Relocation allowance of $500-1500 (for single to family) for students moving from interstate
• Tuition fees offset for the duration of 4 years. Single Overseas Student Health Cover policy for the duration of the student visa (only for international students)
