The Helen Hay Whitney Foundation has initiated scholarships to support early postdoctoral research training in all basic biomedical sciences.
Eligibility for Helen Hay Whitney Postdoctoral Research Fellowships, 2024:
- Candidates who hold or obtain a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree and are starting postdoctoral training in basic biomedical research are eligible for the fellowship.
- Candidates with a minimum of one year of postdoctoral research experience at the time of the deadline for applying.
- Candidates who obtained a Ph.D. (or D.Phil. or equivalent) degree two years before the deadline, or an M.D. degree minimum three years before the deadline.
- US citizens can work in labs either in the US, Canada, or abroad.
- Foreign nationals can take this fellowship in the US only.
- International candidates must have relevant visa documentation.
- Applications from prominent scientists or established fellows will not be accepted.
Selection Criteria:
- Screening by Scientific Advisory Committee through an interview.
- Selected Candidates will be called for a Final interview.
- Selected candidates are approved for the fellowship by the votes of the Board of Trustees.
Application Process:
- The candidates must submit the applications online at the Helen Hay Whitney Foundation website.
- Candidates must refer to the 'Reference Letter Template' available on the website for drafting the reference letter.
- Candidates are required to submit the given six application items.
Value of Helen Hay Whitney Postdoctoral Research Fellowships, 2024:
- Research allowance of USD 1500/year.
- A stipend of USD 70,000 (1st year), USD 72,000(2nd year), and USD 74,000 (3rd year).
- Travel expenses.
